Graham Funke was raised in the legendary office of Charles and Ray Eames, where his multiple Academy-Award-winning father Alex Funke was the cameraman. There, Graham found himself exposed to a wide varierty of projects and ideas which have served as an inspiration for his various pursuits. DJ Graham Funke witnessed the spoils of DJing early on. And while the beautiful women, big bucks, and free champagne are nice, what he truly appreciates is the philosophy and science of it all. This translated nicely in 2001 when he came into the employ of nightlife impresario Ivan Kane, where Graham’s eclectic mix of rock and hip-hop perfectly fit the format of Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce Hollywood. He has since incorporated the same turntable wisdom at Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce Las Vegas, and looks forward to doing it again and again as the empire grows. And Graham Funke has a little thespian in him as well, having starred in a slew of TV commercials for companies like Starburst, Adidas, and Citibank. He also just recently graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television with a screenwriting education, which compliments his work in journalism. His ear-to-the-street mentality and keen eye for pop culture have led to published articles in a variety of magazines. With Graham Funke, it’s coffee in the morning and whiskey at night. |
